The experience and the knowledge that the U.S. Congress has in the research area is interesting for the Expertise and Analytical Department RA National Assembly. This is an original start for the relations, which are formed also on the platform of the staffs between the National Assembly and the U.S. Congress. It is very important that the experts, who assist the deputies’ activities, be ready aware and armed with knowledge. The RA NA Expertise and Analytical Department is a scientific potential. The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Staff of the RA National Assembly Heghine Khachikyan said about this to the members of the Working Group of the House Democratic Partnership. She noted that such meetings are also important for the foreign partners in terms of sharing with their experience and knowledge and presenting them by the employees of the NA Staff Expertise and Analytical Department.

The International Republican Institute (IRI) financed by the U.S. UNDP, the Working Group of the House Democracy Partnership holds a Technical Assistance Consultancy on the topic Enhancing Accurate and Independent Parliamentary Research to Better Serve Citizens on November 14-16.

Thanking the organizers for creating such platform, Heghine Khachikyan expressed hope that with the help of the international partner the further cooperation between the RA NA and the Congress will become institutional.

During the workshop the former Staff Director of the U.S. House of Representatives Thomas Kahn, the former Legislative Director of the U.S. House of Representatives Kristina Dunklin and a group of analysts of the Research Service will give lectures.

Highlighting the cooperation between the Staffs of parliaments of the European countries and the exchange of information of legal character, the experts of the House of Representatives will provide background information to guide policy proposals and to expertly navigate complicated policy topics.
